When the Leeds RAG Honduras Project met Ramon Nunez!

On Saturday 17th March, three of the Leeds RAG Honduras Project travelled to Elland Road, home of Leeds United FC, to meet Ramon Nunez, the Honduran national footballer. Having previously played for Club Deportivo Olimpia and Scunthorpe United, the midfielder moved to Leeds in 2010. He has also played for the Honduras national team, and is nicknamed El Principito (the Little Prince) in his home country.

Despite Leeds United only allowing Nunez out of their sight for a few minutes, the RAG team managed to sneak a photo and deliver a letter from Casa Alianza, inviting Ramon to get involved in their work in the UK or in Honduras. He also presented us with a signed shirt, which we would like to take to Honduras and present as a gift to Casa Alianza.

Preparations are well under way for the project. The volunteers will be flying out to Honduras in less than 13 weeks from now! More updates on an exciting music night/Football Action fundraiser coming soon…
