MEET THE TEAM

Ben Patton
Ben Patton
Ben has been involved in Football Action from our first trip to Ethiopia back in 2010 and since then has run both our Honduras and Ethiopia projects. As a passionate player and coach you can be sure to find him in the thick of it when the footballs come out!

James Dillon
James Dillon
James is a keen Nottingham Forest fan which surprisingly hasn’t put him off football! In 2013 James visited all three Football Action projects in Honduras, Kenya and Ethiopia, and he can’t wait to go back. James was one of Football Action’s founders and his wife Pippa actually came up with the charity’s name.

Kevin Shannon
Kevin Shannon
From Ireland, Kevin has lived (and played football!) in Australia, Japan and Honduras where he helped set up the Honduras project in the capital, Tegucigalpa. Trained as a barrister, Kev’s real talent lies in coaching and teaching children and in running very, very long distances, think 35-100 miles!

Mark Shannon
Mark Shannon
Mark is one of the founding members of Football Action and is lucky enough to spend both his social and working life in and around football working for beIN SPORTS. In his ‘spare’ time Mark likes to run ultra-marathons with his brother, together completing their first 100mile race in 2013 in 20 hours and 34 painful minutes!

Sally Robinson
Sally Robinson
Sally first volunteered for Football Action as a Project Leader (and translator!) on our inaugral visit to Honduras. Since then she has led a trip to Ethiopia and was made a Trustee in 2013. When she’s not writing our newsletter or watching her long suffering Newcastle Utd on TV, Sally works full time in the charity sector.

Helen McTokell
Helen’s one of the newest members of the team, becoming a Trustee in October 2017. She plays football for Clapham, and is confined to goals after a life of playing Gaelic Football in her native Ireland. She’s very much looking forward to her first trip out to one of the projects.

Michael Corbishley
One of the newest members of the team, Michael joined Football Action in late 2017 and helps oversee our Kenya Project. A lifelong West Ham fan Michael enjoys both playing and watching football. Outside of Football Action Michael works full time for the homeless charity SHP.
